Below are answers to the most common questions we receive here at KniTec. If you have more questions, call or drop us a line.
DISPLAYS
Yes. Using a non-commercial or consumer-grade display in a commercial setting will void the product warranty. If the display fails, you will be responsible for all repair or replacement costs.
Commercial displays offer several advantages that justify the difference in use:
- Warranty Protection: The warranty remains valid in a commercial environment.
- Durability and Performance: They are built with enhanced components, such as more robust glass screens and technology designed to minimize image retention (burn-in) issues common with static commercial content.
- Property Control Features: Commercial displays include lock-out features to prevent guests or customers from altering settings, and often have volume limiters to maintain a consistent environment.
- Design: They typically do not include a built-in TV tuner (which is standard in consumer models).
Pro Idiom is an encryption technology or use in the hospitality, healthcare, and commercial markets to ensure the security of HD digital and VoD (Video on Demand ) signals.
You do not need Pro Idiom if your property uses a Set Top Box (the box that receives your signal and pushes it out to the TV).
b-LAN is only necessary if you are using a system with SONIFI.

OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) TVs use self-illuminating individual pixels that offer no backlighting. This creates a slim, blur-free picture that can be dimmed for better contrast and create a true black.
LED (Light Emitting Diode) TVs offer the fastest refresh rates (think gamers) and maximum brightness compared to OLED. It is also the most cost effective of the three. The biggest challenge for LED's is that the blacks look gray in dark areas
QLED (Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode) TVs use the same LED-based backlighting technology with the addition of "quantum dots." These dots function like liquid crystal displays, providing only the color for each pixel. Advancements in recent years have improved QLED displays to the point where they may come very close to visually matching OLED panels.
USB Cloning allows you to copy all your TV settings to a USB drive, including channel options and picture quality., and then transfer those settings to each additional TV. The process is quick, easy, and fully automated.
We get asked this a lot, and it really depends on what you are mounting the display to, and what type of mobility you need. from there, we look at weight, security, and vesa pattern (the configuration of the four mounting holes on the back of display).

No. Every system is set up different and may be limited by previous infrastructure. That being said, Coaxial cable delivery still works, as does IP with nearly all displays.
Hotel IPTV systems allow audio and video information to be transmitted over the same cables used to deliver the internet connection to an environment.
KniTec has a dedicated network of professional installers across the country, ready to install, program and configure your new guest-room televisions.
Shipping
As a general rule, we recommend placing your order 2–6 weeks ahead of your desired delivery date.
While replacement units often ship the same day, lead times for large orders (over 100 units) can vary due to factors like inventory availability and weather delays.
To get an accurate delivery estimate for your specific order, please contact our sales team.
Typical freight time is 5-10 days. Once an order is placed, we will strive to secure and reserve your items so that once your invoice is paid, your order is released and will arrive as soon as possible.
If your mounts are available in the same warehouse as your display(s), then they will ship together. If they are coming from different locations, we will do our best to land them at the same time at your property.
KniTec has warehouses across the United States, and will locate your stock at the closest one to your location.
The KniTec headquarters is located in San Clemente, California.
You will be notified by email when your order has shipped with a copy of the shipment notification including tracking and carrier information. Please note that tracking information may not be available from the carrier until the day after shipment, or until the shipment hits its first hub. This order may be a partial shipment. If you are expecting additional items, the balance of your order should be shipping shortly.
Receiving
You must inspect the external packaging for damage before signing the delivery receipt.
Check for any signs of transit damage, such as a crushed, torn, wet, or punctured box, or if any items or parts appear to be missing.
Important: Signing the delivery receipt confirms that the shipment was received in pristine condition. If you sign for a damaged package, any subsequent claim for damage will likely be denied by the carrier. If you observe damage, follow our instructions for refusing a shipment.
RETURNS
It is crucial to follow these steps to ensure a successful damage or shortage claim. We will work as your advocate to get replacements as quickly as possible.
1. Inspect and Refuse Damaged Items
- DO NOT ACCEPT any items or boxes that show clear signs of damage (e.g., crushes, holes, tears). Refusing the shipment is the easiest way to ensure a replacement.
- If you choose to accept a visibly damaged item, you must write a detailed, specific notation on the Proof of Delivery (POD) slip.Valid Notation Example: "DAMAGED LCD Screen" or "DAMAGED Projector."Invalid Notations: Avoid vague terms like "subject to inspection," "possible damage," or "box damage." Carriers will reject claims with these generic notes.
2. Report Missing Items
- If any items are missing, you must write "ORDER INCOMPLETE" along with a specific description of the missing item(s) on the POD.
3. Report Damage Immediately
- Contact your sales representative or customer service immediately to report the issue.
- Concealed Damage: Damage that was not visible upon delivery must be reported within 30 days of the shipment date (including transit time).
4. Keep All Packaging
- Retain all boxes and original packaging. Photos of the exterior packaging are required to file a concealed damage claim.
If you purchased your displays from KniTec, not only do we handle damage claims for you, but if a television malfunctions, we handle your warranty claim with the manufacturer. If you need help programming a television, setting a volume limit or creating a channel line-up, we will help you directly, NOT direct you to an 800 number.
